B.A. Hope College
Mr. Orr was born and reared in rural Arkansas. While attending Hope College in Holland, MI, he converted to the Catholic faith in 2006 and discovered a passion for Latin, the language of the Church, and Gregorian Chant, the music of the Church. He graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Languages, magna cum laude. Mr. Orr went on to attend the University of Massachusetts-Amherst for graduate studies in Latin and Classical Humanities. In 2012 he accepted a position as Latin Instructor and Academic Dean for St. John Bosco Academy in Hardy, AR (later in Batesville, AR), eventually rising to the position of Assistant Principal. During his time there he taught courses in Latin, American Government, History, Logic, Classical Literature, Catechism, Elementary Reading, Handwriting, and Grammar. Mr. Orr joined Queen of Heaven Academy in 2014. His particular academic interests are early Christian literature, Renaissance Latin, Neo-Latin texts, and elegiac poetry.
